Jacques Favino (1920-1999) is known as one the most famous and remarkable luthiers of old Gypsyjazz guitars besides SELMER, BUSATO and DiMAURO. Othe than the sicilian luthier mentioned, which mostly crafted kind of SELMER Guitar copies, Jacques Favino created a very different and unique sound of his instruments.
The offered guitar called „Model Jazz 2B“ has been built by Jacques Favino around 1955 and 1958/59 in very limited numbers. Some of those models had been delivered with pickups as well. And there were some similar models called „Model 1B“ (similar body). But those were crafted with round soundholes other taoilpieces and other sound characteristics.
With this guitar you buy a real old treasure with the typical sound, known for FAVINO Guitars: the dry midranged barky shout. Of course this is no „Model No. 10“ (the one with the big jumbo-bout), but has more of a SELMER body size. But still she has that typical barky dry sound of old FAVINO Guitars. If you love the "old sound" of Gypsyjazz Guitars, then this is YOUR instrument!
